Form fields distinct from custom fields
Sam Baron
I would like to create form fields that were not custom fields. Their values could be added to the task description by default.
Particularly with the new conditional logic, I want to add a lot more form fields, but I don't need the overhead & clutter of them all being custom fields.
One workaround I've played with is having a separate list for request intake with lots of custom fields, and then automate moving the task into a list for implementation.

So I'm not sure if this is exactly the same thing, but I've run into a handful of scenarios wherein, I'll need a custom field... but like... just once... just here... nowhere else. Especially irritating in scenarios with "Tasks-In-Multiple-Lists" (which I like to call "Live-Clones"), but not always. I'm trying to re-integrate cu into my employer's product development workflow and sometimes we need a custom field for a certain line of products or just in one little place, but don't necessarily need it clogging up the CF list in EVERY task.
Maybe a CF type called "Discrete Custom Field" that could be applied to Forms, Tasks, and perhaps even Lists, Folders & Spaces?

I've been looking for this feature request. I agree, I would like to have about a dozen form fields but I do not want them to become custom fields. I hate how the custom fields clutter the view so much.
If anything, these form fields would serve as a reminder for the person filling out the form. The information contained can then be transferred to the description on the other end.

Daniel Sturtevant: Yeah, I had the same problem. What I ended up doing from my "Intake" list was duplicate the newly created task into an implementation list, and then delete the original task. Still not a great solution.

I've done something similar to keep the custom fields I need form fillers to thick about separate from the fields my team need to worry about. I'd be curious how well you got that automation to work; I never found a way to get it to be fully automatic and not add all the form fields to the main task. I got the duplicate process down to like five clicks, and have up on finding any greater efficiency than that.
