Follower should be set on request, not from the slot machine
Tomasz Nowacki
Problem (current status — AS-IS)
Currently, in ClickUp, the user automatically becomes a Follower of the task when:
will be cited in the comment (@mention),
will be assigned to the task,
in some cases, after performing a certain action in the task.
As a result:
the user becomes a follower of many tasks,
receives an excessive number of notifications,
You have to manually remove yourself from your follower list.
“information noise” is growing and work efficiency is falling.
The problem particularly concerns:
Board of Directors,
persons consulted,
people who are only temporarily summoned to the thread.
Need (TO-BE)
The follower should only be set at the explicit request of the user and not automatically at each recall.
Proposed rules:
@mention ≠ automatically become a follower
the user receives a notification,
but does not automatically become a follower of the task.
Follower set only when:
the user manually clicks “Follow task”,
or turn on the “Watch this task” option.
Optional:
global setting: “Automatically observe tasks in which I am mentioned” (enable/disable).
