In our workflow, a single project task can accumulate dozens of attachments: contracts, technical reports, certificates, purchase orders, shipping documents, and more. Many of these are lengthy, multi-page files.
Currently, all attachments inside a task land in one flat list with no way to group or categorize them. As the file count grows, finding the right document becomes time-consuming and error-prone.
Requested feature: Allow users to create folders (or at minimum, labeled groups/sections) within a task's attachments area to organize uploaded files, similar to how a file explorer works.
Example use case:
📁 Contract Documents (agreements, POs, amendments)
📁 Technical Records (data books, test certificates)
📁 Review & Approval (third-party reports, release notes)
📁 Logistics (freight docs, packing lists)
This would significantly improve document retrieval speed and reduce the risk of referencing the wrong file, especially for long-running projects that can span multiple years. Today we work around this by splitting files across subtasks, but that creates unnecessary task clutter just for file organization purposes.
