I use the time tracker constantly throughout my day, but I often forget to start or stop it because it's hidden behind other windows. It would be incredibly useful to have a mini floating timer widget that stays on top of all other applications, similar to picture-in-picture mode.
What I'd like:
  • A small, resizable pop-out window showing the active timer (task name + elapsed time)
  • "Always on top" behavior so it stays visible over other apps
  • Ability to start, stop, and switch tasks directly from the floating widget
  • Minimal footprint on screen, just enough to see the timer at a glance
Why it matters:
  • Prevents forgetting to start/stop the timer when switching between apps
  • Improves time tracking accuracy
  • Keeps users aware of how long they've been on a task without needing to switch back to ClickUp
This would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for anyone who relies on time tracking daily. The desktop app is the perfect place for this since it already runs in the background.
