File custom field sync with Attachments

From Support ticket: File column and attachment within the task should sync.
Currently: Files uploaded as attachments to the task don't appear on the File column.

Currently, ClickUp have separate columns/features for ClickUp Docs and other attachments in List View, including files uploaded from computers or shared via SharePoint. This sometimes leads to fragmentation in document management and makes it a bit challenging to find and collaborate on documents, especially when projects involve a mix of both.
I propose implementing a new column or feature that allows us to attach, view and manage all types of attachments, including ClickUp Docs, in one unified and organized view/column. This would streamline document management and enhance collaboration, as we would easily locate, edit, and share all relevant documents regardless of their source.
I believe this change will further solidify ClickUp as a comprehensive platform for task and document management, saving us valuable time.

Thanks for the feedback, Ryan! Where are you primarily looking at Custom Fields? Task View? Lists? Would you expect to see both task attachments and any files uploaded to the CF?

Caroline Ginty: I'm thinking from the list view. All the field to be customized (with an option) to be for files uploaded to the CF or to display tasks attachments and upload attachments to the task from the CF.

My issue is slightly different - I am using Table View with Forms to collect data for my Table. I can add a field to my Form to have staff add an attachment and the file loads no problem onto the form. However, when the form is submitted the attachment doe not show up on the Table - there is no field for it. There is a field called "Attachment" but the actual attachment does not show there - (that field is for uploading an attachment directly to the Table). However since each line on the Table is a task, you can open the task and the attachment is there. Very annoying that it doesn't show on the Table

It should be possible to:
- re-order the files in a custom field.
- interact with this field via your API.
- see the full file name

Yes, at least we should be able to add in the custom file the files already attached to the task without having to download to resend a second time!
