Commenting again, because I was just about to put a new feedback request in for this and realized this existed. Clearly, it's still on my mind 4 years later!

The screenshot below is a good example of what I'm looking for: custom field "PVG project number" is what helps us track projects. In this specific widget, I have a bunch of filters to look for specific deliverables within each project. I'd like some sort of separation, in other words, group by the project number.

5 years since the OP asked for this feature. It'd be really useful for a lot of teams.

Please make this happen. The lack of this feature is hampering our ability to be able to use Clickup to do very detailed calculators for our project bidding / scoping.

Both tags and text field don't work for us as grouping by tags doesn't work when we use multiple tags, they are considered as different groups. Grouping by text would solve all our issues as we cannot have more than 500 items in a dropdown or label custom field and we manage thousands of projects.

Group by Custom Field for Timesheets, Time Tracking dashboard widgets, and all other dashboard/overview widgets.

It is a very important feature, We are in the process of transitioning from Monday.com, and this is a critical feature we are looking for. While we are excited about moving forward, we would like to express that having this feature is very important to our operations.

I also first reported a bug and we tried to troubleshoot it with the live chat agent for a while before realizing it was a missing feature ...

i don't understand why they leave simple things like this out when they first shipped "group by" i mean c'mon man. I just wanna group by text lol

I think clickup should allow user to group by any field type. eg. we can group by due date but not start date. That doesn't really make sense.

need a group by text field feature!
