Email Address Auto Populate
Ruth Barrow
When I send an email through Clickup, I would like the address field to auto populate if I have sent the email an email in CU in the past, or maybe pull from an address book (like email clients do when you start typing someones name), otherwise I have to open my email client to copy/paste their email which defeats the point of emailing within CU

We need this!

I agree with all of these points. It would be great to import all of our email contacts, have more than 100 address in the Clickup address book. It would be great if Clickup could auto-populate addresses that have been used before. Thanks!!

Most project-based businesses need a clear audit trail of communications, both for process best practice and to refer back to for approvals, disputes etc. For businesses using Clickup that DON'T invite their clients into workspaces, email is the only option.
As a result, there are certain UX expectations around using email that we all take for granted. Auto-population of address fields is one of them.
Most communications are task-based, and for projects that have large numbers of tasks, particularly if they change frequently (e.g. monthly retainers), these comms must be located within the tasks. It quickly becomes a problem if everything is jumbled into a single part of the workspace, and the user has to search through mountains of emails - particularly if they are attachments
Another is that once an email is sent, any follow ups in the thread need to be stored with the message. It's not really acceptable to have some emails in the task, and others in an associated/linked email inbox.
Clickup really should look at the email function and analyse whether it's aligned to user expectations.

It should be filled automatically with the possibility to delete suggested e-mail address(ses) which were earlier used in the task. It doesn't make sense to click the address everytime you send a new e-mail (probably to the same receiver)

Suggest Email addresses in Email Custom Field
Jen Orendorff
Currently, when you use the Email Custom field, you have to type the entire email address out, even though this email address may be used in a different Space/Folder/List or is a known contact (client, employee, etc).
Similarly to Gmail and other email apps, allow the Email Custom field to suggest email addresses as you begin to type in the email address in the Custom Field.

Thanks for the hlp. Unfortunately, I think you misunderstood my issue. I'm typing email addresses into a new EMAIL within Clickup. Email addresses that have already been used inside Clickup (even the same task) are not found.

How do I get Clickup to find email addresses? I've got my client's email addresses in an "Email Address" field in a Master Client list that is duplicated into the Client folder (and sometimes even already in the same Clickup email thread), but when I try to address a new email within the client folder, Clickup won't let me type a couple characters to populate the address. Instead, it makes me go out of the email, copy and paste each email from the Master Client list. Super frustrating.
I live in Apple-land, so all my client contacts are also in my iCloud contacts, but it doesn’t seem to help Clickup find them. I learned on Facebook that Clickup uses Gmail or Outlook for email addresses. Since I have a Gmail account for personal use, so I added a client address in my Gmail Contacts to see if that would help. Nope. Clickup still can’t find it.

One of the training video's in ClickUp mention that you want people to work out of ClickUp as much as possible. To do this I really need ClickUp to see my Contacts. ClickUp can see or talk to my calendar so seeing my address book or contact list seems like it would be the next step for integrating with my email. I sure hope you all can do this soon. I want our entire team to start using ClickUp and working out of ClickUp, but without this feature I don't want to even tell them about emailing out of ClickUp. Thanks!

Whenever I send an email from Clickup, that email address should be saved and auto-populated as I start creating a new email. Additionally, there should be a basic address book in Clickup so that I can associate an email address with a name; and I also need to be able to create groups of contacts that I can quickly select when drafting a clickup email.

Agree with auto populating templates 100% as well as refreshing from Contacts.
I would also like this feature to include grouped contacts as we have a rapidly growing team so these groups are getting bigger and adding email addresses one-by-one is too time consuming.
