Due Today should mean "by end of day today"

I've noticed that when I mark a task due Today, it is treated as overdue as soon as Today begins. But that is not what "due today" means. Without a due time, "due today" means by end of day today - or before tomorrow. But it is not overdue until tomorrow.

There is a related issue about how reminder items display in the Inbox (2.0). If I set a reminder for today in, say, half an hour, it shows only on the Next tab as Due Later. It does then pop into the Inbox when it is due, but I would rather see the Due Later tab in the Inbox (under Today). Having said that, if the default due date for tasks/reminders is now changed to later afternoon (say 5pm) everything can appear, in due time order, in the Inbox Today.

Still looks like it's not fixed - tasks set to be due today show up as overdue at 4am. My hope is that the overdue reminder doesn't happen until near the end of the day and that is dependent on the time zone of the person the task is assigned to.

Yes it should only be marked as overdue when a the defined time is over not only because of the date.
Chris Comer
I agree! It's fixed in 2.0.

Chris Comer: Must have broke again because its not fixed in my version of 2.0
Chris Comer
Ivan Villa: Me, too. They suggested un-installing and reinstalling the extension. Did that and still have the same issue. I'll reach back out to support.
Zeb
Chris Comer: Ivan Villa Where are you guys seeing this behavior still? Do you mean for notifications?
Ramayan K Maniktala
Zeb: I still see it in reporting under "Who's Behind" as well as the task due date color is red, indicating overdue. Changing the time to be in the future resolves the issue.
Zeb
Ramayan K Maniktala: Hey Ramyan! Can you please explain where you are seeing the red color? A screenshot would be really helpful. Thanks!
Erin Morris
It would be awesome if all scheduled tasks defaulted to a time at end of day automatically.

Can set time if you need to

Zeb: Will it still appear above tasks with a time when sorted be due date? I.e will due date 'today' be before '4pm today'? I find this very useful personally...
Ivan Villa
Zeb: what version of 2.0 because its not working on mine, I set something to be due today and its already showing up as overdue

Ivan Villa: was the time past 4am?
Ivan Villa
Josh Moxey: Yup
Zeb
Ivan Villa: Did you explicitly set the time as 4am or do you know how it was set that way? Any idea where you set the time from?
Ivan Villa
Zeb: I use the date picker, and let's say I set a task due for tommorow. No time set just the day. I wake up the next day with a notification that says the task is overdue
Zeb
Ivan Villa: Got it, thanks! We should have this fixed this week
