Due Date is different to a scheduled 'working' timeframe

At the moment, I can see that if I schedule the work on certain days that I have capacity, it changes the due date for the task to reflect that scheduling choice - loosing the due date information.

Definitely waiting for this feature!

I would love to plan my day without it changing the due date. Adding the tasks to the calendar should schedule a "working session" instead of changing the start date and the due date.

Same issue… this really needs to be changed…

Scheduling time blocks for working on a task separately from the due date would be a necessary improvement in workflow. I have many tasks that have a end due date but I won't be doing them on the due date - I will need to schedule them to be done before that. Would be great to use the calendar for it.

Linn Nagel: I perfectly agree with you

Came here to leave a suggestion just like this. I hope ClickUp Admin takes this into consideration!

Need this so bad! The calendar view on the home page could serve as time blocking if it didn't kill due date. This would be a huge improvement. Pretty please 🥺

I would love to see something similar to this! In our shop, it's very useful to be able to schedule work that we're doing for our customers based on our employee's availability. For example, one of our services is installing snow plows, which typically takes about 6-8 hours. The customer might have a due date of Monday morning because of a storm coming in Monday night, but based on availability, we try to schedule it to be done on Thursday so we can account for unexpected difficulties. Currently, the workaround I'm using for this is creating a task for the customer with their absolute due date of Monday at 10am, then creating a subtask titled "Install" and scheduling it for Thursday 8am-4pm. I can then assign that subtask to an available employee. It works, but it would be so nice to not HAVE to create subtasks for every single instance like this (which is a LOT of instances). Part of the issue with this workaround is that this single job it shows up on the calendar twice, once each for the subtask and the parent task. Having a separate "Scheduled Start Date" and "Scheduled End Date" that are different from the current due date fields would be amazingly helpful. Going into details, having options on whether or not it replaces due dates on the Calendar view would be great, as well as being able to set automations based on whether or not the task changes status by the scheduled dates (for example, changing the scheduled date or changing priority if it does not reach a "done" status by the scheduled end date).

I have this very issue too. I would like to schedule tasks in the day/week to have a clear plan of what to do. However I still want to keep information on start date and due date, which is in general unrelated to scheduling

Scheduling a Task in Time Blocks is exactly what is necessary.
