Drag and Drop While Sorting

It would be helpful to drag tasks between status when sorted, particularly by Due Date in Board View. This helps take action on the most urgent items.

It would be great to have an option do disable drag and drop at all in interface.

Lets test
I just got this message and I wasnt even sorting:
"Drag and Drop is Disabled
Whoops! Drag and drop is disabled while sorting tasks. Please disable sorting to reorder tasks."
EDIT: Figured out the issue. Field sort was on but was too small to see with my tags. The error should probably link to some info/onboarding on field sorts, see if sorts on etc.

Not sure if this is the right place since it is an old and completed feature request, but this functionality seems to be reversed quite recently.
When trying drag and drop I now get the message:
"Drag and Drop is Disabled
Whoops! Drag and drop is disabled while sorting tasks. Please disable sorting to reorder tasks."
Przemek
Ilja: We experience it as well. Waleed Elaghil would you care to check and / or comment

Hey Przemek & Ilja! The way it works now is whenever you're sorting, drag-n-drop should not work.
Yes there are some cases where this might be needed like when grouping tasks by status and draging tasks between different groups, while sorting. For this, we're working in allowing it but don't have a fixed ETA for it yet.
Ilja
Waleed Elaghil: Thanks for the update!

Ilja: I'm also still having this issue. Would be helpful if ClickUp Admin addressed it.
Ilja
Kristen Westcott: Actually, it is working for me now, I don't get this error message anymore when I move a task to a different list while sorting is enabled. Not sure why it's not working for you, maybe it's good to add some more details so ClickUp can properly address it.

ClickUp 2.0 helps you achieve this now!

Waleed Elaghil: What I'm looking for is sorting the inbox via drag and drop. So I would be able "to sort my day".
Waleed Elaghil
Hey Haeme Ulrich! You'll be able to do this with our new Inbox V2, which is under development 🙂

Waleed Elaghil: wow :-)

Waleed Elaghil: This is not complete

at least add a button "disable sorting" directly in he popup

Is there any response from ClickUp on this yet?

If drag-and-drop must be disabled during sorting (for whatever reason), perhaps a solution involving a toggle (to turn sorting/filtering on/off, without losing settings) could be implemented. If so, dragging-and-dropping selected tasks (multiple drag-and-drop already works!) seems like it would work well.
Maybe this can even be done without a toggle, whereby ClickUp--internally--temporarily turns off sorting (again, not sure why that is a necessary step but trust that it is necessary at this point), does the move, and then turns sorting back on... or the toggle is more like a button that turns on for one 'move-activity' and then automatically off.
Anyway, hoping to spur some ideas around this. I don't claim to have the solution but I trust that the CU Team and Community know what they're doing. Maybe this is even becoming a non-issue with 2.0.

For me, the bigger issue is to be able to drag and drop items from one list to another list while sorting. If I am in my backlog, I like to sort my items by priority. I would then like to move those items easily to the appropriate Sprint List. Currently, I have to identify backlog items, clear the sorting, move the items, then turn sorting back on. I can't think of a reason why I shouldn't be able to move these items. Please add the ability to drag and drop between lists while sorting.

Allow to drag and drop in sorted lists views

I get a warning message when I try this: "Drag and drop is disabled. Please clear sorting to drag and drop tasks."
I don't see why this should not be possible. When I sort by due date and I drag from "overdue" to "today", just change the due date on that task accordingly.
Same for all the other properties.
