Don't force colors on custom field drop-downs or labels (or any other custom field type)
Kim Jackson
Forcing colors on drop-down choices is too much. It creates an eye sore if you're using a lot of choices and can create visual chaos. We have been using icons with our text to make it a visually appealing, quick read view. I don't know when this change went into effect to where it forces colors, but it's horrible. It's preventing me from wanting to create any new custom drop-downs, and our users use dark or light dependent on their personal preference, so I really prefer to have the option for no color. Also, how do all these colors impact individuals with color blindness? I just think this is such a bad design to not offer no color as an option. 😕

Actually, that behavior is inconsistent and should still be fixed. See screenshot.
Inconsistent display for a drop-down field when depending on how it's used in a view. Sometimes white is white and other times white is transparent.

From my experience, selecting white acts as blank - did you check that? Kim Jackson
It's not shown as default option but can be selected via colour picker.

Franziska Tryzna Oh my goodness! This is absolutely NOT intuitive! I use the dark theme, so making something "white" does not make sense that it is actually transparent. Thank you!

Kim Jackson I feel you, I stumbled upon this behaviour by absolute accident myself!
Glad I was able to help out.
