Many of our users have wished for a way to privately or directly message individuals within a task or chat without also notifying people who are marked as watchers on the task but not needed for the specific conversation.
Right now, "@" mentions help a person prioritize their own notifications in Inbox, but comments with @ mentions for one user will still show as notifications for any other user that may be on the task as a watcher, despite not being addressed via @ mention.

+1 for this feature. I would like to communicate with team members directly and ditch other messaging applications.

Mega important. It's still one feature where we need to use other platforms. Since we have chat views, this shouldn't be that crazy to implement but it's crazy that this request was done over 5 years ago and it's not even planned. Please, guys!

Extremly important function!

Please create this feature asap! This literally is one of the defining features between advancing on Click-up or not. Every project management tool should include a messaging platform within the system. This is how all team members communicate. I understand that content based conversations are usually how project management thinks but people based messaging is most common and essential for workflow and brainstorming before launching a task or project.

This is the only feature I'm missing in Clickup, so that I still need to use Slack. Chat in Lists and Tasks is great. But for quick 1to1 messages of team members (unrelated to tasks) a chat-function would be awesome
