When I use the date picker, here is how I imagine it should work:
- Click on start date, type in date and time I want
- Press down arrow to select the suggestion that appears in the dropdown, then enter/return to confirm
- Press tab to move to the due date
- Same thing with down arrow use
Even though it's not a huge deal, just being able to complete date selection without moving from keyboard to mouse/trackpad over and over would make the date picker usability so much better. Thanks!

This feels like a bug report but I'm sure it's working as intended--
Adding to this that when I click a Start Date, I want my cursor to be in the Start Date field - that's the field I'm choosing to edit, which is why I clicked on it. Currently defaults to due date.

Take a look at the Android-Style time picker. I think it's the best picker out there. No scrolling, just click on the exact time you want. Easy for people to understand. Looks like a clock.

This basic improvement is quite needed and waited. Solving the "hit enter" to select date AND hour & confirm is a must!
By the way I realised that a more complete approach could and probably should be the next move. Showing a complete Agenda view to select the date & time visually. It might be slightly heavier to load, but if the curent week is already pre-loaded, this could work pretty well. The essential gain here is to have a constant look and control on the actual planning, avoiding or managing overlaps at best.
You will also mention that I included the ability to display all synced calendars.
NB : Be sure to include an option to quickly switch the view type.

The date picker completely suck at this moment. I really hope it can be revamped ASAP. Why not get inspired by iOS 15 and macOS?
For time entry, let us select then type directly. Scrolling through time entries is inefficient.

Totally needed - using numpad + arrows + enter >> tab >> redo. Selecting date is quite ok for me, but task hours are especially frustrating to enter.

Thibault de Changy: Completely agree!! And if you don't do the "down arrow" in order to enter the selected entry time it completely ignores the input even if you on your keypad have the enter

I just want to say, after using the date picker for the past year and then some, this is becoming more of an issue for me. When you're adding lots of due dates it becomes cumbersome to switch from mouse to keyboard over and over. I also now find it irritating to have to select a suggestion instead of just typing in the date and leaving it at that. Maybe if the input is not clear, then suggestions should show, but time and time again I wish I could just type and be done with it instead of having to type in the date and select the suggestion.
Another thing I wish was less time consuming is rescheduling. If I have to move a 30-minute task up by 15 minutes I have to completely re-type the start date and due date instead of moving the slot up by 15 in a simple way.

Becky Hile: I have same problems. I can't even tab from start date to due date. So I need to constantly go back and forth from keyboard to mouse.

Becky Hile: I really agree. After battling it out for 6 months now I am finding it far too fiddly to set up new dates and reschedule and am sadly moving on from clickup

it would be cool to be able to have some shortcut key to quickly jump to date picker for a task and have start date field focused right away. Then I want to tab to due date.

yes, please. Please, please, please don't make me constantly go between mouse and keyboard and please minimize the number of keystrokes. Lots of good examples of doing this well out there to study.

Another thing that would be great would be to be able to set a start date and time, and then in the due date area, being able to type something relative to start, like "1 hour later" or "1 day later" and have the datepicker select the correct date and time based on that.
