When adding custom IDs, can we have leading zeros for the increments and change the separator character?

Currently there does not seem to be a way for make the increment default to 3 or 9 or 10 digits. So, as of now, instead of having an ID "SALES-00001" the only option is "SALES-1"

There should also be an option to change the separator type. The only option is "-". There might be times when a "." or space or "|" might be better for use.
