Custom Fields in Free Plan
Stephanie Rogalsky
I was using custom fields and the definition of "100 uses" was not clear in the beginning. It is not "100 entries" or "100 fields." Every change counts as a "use." It is heavily integrated into my work flow. And now it just doesn't work at all. I can't delete fields/entries and make room for others. So I can't continue working. This is a sudden halt to my work.
I would prefer for the free plan to have xx custom fields instead. As a startup, we can't afford to get an upgraded plan just for this. So we would need to change our entire organization structure.
With the current system, it forced me to completely stop work today. There is no temporary work-around option. Either we upgrade or we can't work in this system.

Make Custom Field Uses Unlimited In The Free Plan

The Free Plan is great when just starting out, and the custom fields are awesome, but I had no idea what the custom field uses meant. I thought it meant I couldn't use more than 60 custom fields, not that every change counted as a use as I am learning from other posts here. Please change this and make it unlimited on the free plan

Wow, I'm looking through these threads and there used to be 100 uses for custom fields, now there are only 60. Really sad considering this is such an important feature and also considering some of the standard fields are not helpful/useful. Maybe if there was a way we could customize the standard features, this would be helpful to users. It would be helpful to at least consider a feature that displays the number of custom field uses somewhere in the workspace for users on the Free Forever Plan. Having a visible counter or dashboard would make it much easier to manage custom fields and avoid unexpected limits and hours/days of initial start-up time.

At Least add a low cost option for individuals. Don't need any AI stuff either.

I see this still hasn't been revisited.

I have the same issue with custom field limit. I understand that it is a business reason for paid version and they are not going change it. But Notion has unlimited uses for custom field. Previously, I loved and enjoyed using Clickup very much every day. So, now I have moved on to Notion. I recommend that you change to Notion too. BYE BYE CLICK UP.

Please consider adding unlimited custom fields for at least one user within SMB organizations on the free plan. This would provide a powerful tool for advocates to demonstrate the platform's value and build a strong case for wider adoption!!!!!

I was using notion but i ran out of free blocks so i came to click up but click up does not have free custom feilds! so now i think about going back to notion cause at least with the plan in notion you would get more.

I found a solution - just downloaded Notion. I can put in unlimited fields for free.

I like CU setup and views better than some other options, but with this limit on the custom fields, without warning as to what "uses" actually means means I had to stop my workspace set up. As a startup business, I can't afford to add in a cost for this software, please fix this.

I just started using ClickUp and been loving the Free plan just until this happened. Freelancers, like me, who manages client projects and business tasks needed this feature more. If ClickUp can solve this, hopefully soon, I won't need to ditch the app totally.

Francheska May Dante This happened to me too and I share the same feeling. I am thinking of putting a warning out there warning people intending to use the Free Plan about this experience so they don't waste valuable time evaluating the if they know they won't be able to switch to the paid version anytime soon.
