Custom Fields in Board View

It would be helpful to be able to change information in a custom field while in board view without opening the task. This is possible in list view, but in board view I have to click on the task and then click on the custom fields to be able to enter information for them.

You now have the ability to edit Custom Fields in Board view without clicking into the task 😀

Waleed Elaghil: since it's mandatory it would be useful to make the field appear when you create a new task in board view
actually in board view you can already add or change a custom field
but it doesn't show when you're creating a new task
this make no card can be created in board view shortcut if you have a custom field

Waleed Elaghil: I don't see this. If I click on a custom field, it opens the task.
Never mind. I closed and re-opened the app and it works. Haven't used that board in while?

Also, can we sort on a custom view? All I see in the sort dropdown are standard fields. This Due field is custom and would like to sort on it. Thanks

Hey Darryl Brooks! I'm glad that it's working for you now 🙂. What do you mean by "Due" field? If you mean "due date" then, yes, you can sort by that field.

Waleed Elaghil: Thanks for getting back to me, Waleed. No, this particular set of tasks, I don't want to show on my regular due tasks, so this list has a custom field named Due, which is a date field. If it's in a list view, I can sort on it, but would like to in the Board view.

Not sure if this is related, but moving boards within the grouped field isn't changing the field.
I changed the field to blank in the first one and it didn't move to Empty. So I slid three more into the next adjacent columns and the custom field did not change.
TBH, the app has been real buggy tonight. Deleted things re-appear. I could copy tasks, but not move them. etc.

This would be HUGE for me. I use custom views to do sprint planning where I have a points and priority field. I even switched away from ClickUp at one point because this feature wasn't available (but the other features were too good). Please please please prioritize this! So happy that this is in progress!
Any time estimate to when this feature will be complete?

I would like this feature too! we can add tags, set priority but not custom fields from board view. it becomes even more frustrating if you're on a slow internet and you need to open that task UI and then update that field.

Zeb: IN addition: would be nice if we could determine which custom fields are shown on a board card. Currently two fields are shown, but it's not clear why these two (the first and third in the list of customer fields).

'Board View' -> COLOR by 'Custom Field'
Please provide the option to Color the cards in Board view by 'Custom field', just like there is option to Color cards by 'Custom field' in 'Calendar View'
