Custom Fields for List, Folder, or Space
building now

We organize our clients by folder (i.e. client a), and then client projects as lists (i.e. client a's website). There is no way to group or sort by a list unless you use the default status grouping, but that forces you into lots of other viewing features that I don't want. I'd just love to see everything overdue, sorted by folder or list.

Guy hi,
We're making some updates to our structure, and this feature could make a big change. Don't you imagine, when might this happen, so we can plan accordingly?

Update on beta?
We are hesitant moving forward with clickup as we currently can't get custom fields for list/folder (depending on the structure we'll use for projects). This is regarding integration limitations, as there is no way to specify keys on a list/folder level, such as project no. Furthermore customer no or other relevant keys for integration where other systems are master.
I understand that I can specify this data on the task level, but this isn't suitable, as the data would have to be copied to each task, making it very time consuming

Metadata in folder and lists

I mean metadata in folder like numers or text that are unique and in folder levels for example some category in folders to use it in dashboards later.
The same idea for the lists.

Custom fields at folder level

None of the folder views provide us with a satisfactory overview of all our lists. We can't add custom fields (only at task level) and we can't filter or sort the lists easily in the overview, gantt view, list view or board view. It means we don't have an at-a-glance view of all the projects currently in play (at least not in any logical order or with the basic details we require). I would have thought would be a fundamental element of a project management tool.

Folder Tags

Would be nice to be able to tag, or categorize, the actual folder itself. Especially useful if you are using folders for projects, and want to see all the projects of a particular type (across different spaces). e.g. "Show me all the active marketing projects across all divisions".

Meta information for Folder and Lists
Willi Eggeling
Right now you can't attach any meta information on Folders, and only unstructured ones (a description) on Lists.
I'd like to have typed information (just like custom columns) on my Folders and Lists. This especially comes in handy for automation and reporting.
If a project is a list, and each project may have a different daily rate. How do I calculate my earnings? How do I prove customer information to a folder (cost center id, customer number, ...) that is needed for automation?
This will really help - especially to integrate ClickUp with other tools like a CRM.

Input data at Folder/List level

I use Folders and Lists as projects. It would be great to add custom fields at the Folder/List/Space levels, instead of having to repeat across the tasks

100% - this would be huge

Is limiting custom fields to folder, list or space level possible? Please let me know the status. That's a limitation my team faces.

Tharsan Rajasingam: Are you thinking about Custom Fields for Tasks but limited to folder, list or space? Would love to understand your use-case a bit deeper :)

Space Level Customised Fields

I would love somewhere to store information for specific projects (which for me are set up as a space for each project), where I can list names of important contacts, study title, and other company-specific information used for each of our projects. It's wasted to add as a custom field at a task level, as it is just needed once, linked to the task. We are currently using the list descriptions, which is not optimal.
