Custom Field Update on Form Submission

I have a form that collects candidate information for my hiring process. After submitting the initial form, the candidate receives an email with custom text and instructions on what to do next. Once they complete those steps, they need to submit another ClickUp form.
Here's the issue: I don’t see an option to update the status of the task that gets created after the initial form submission. Instead, it only allows me to create a new task. Even if I go that route, I haven’t found a way to automatically merge the new task with the original one using automation.
