Hello, everyone! Thank you for following along on the progress of this Feature Request.
You can accomplish this request by using the Desktop app setting "Quick Create New Task."
I've attached a screenshot below for clarification.

This is one of my biggest annoyances with the ClickUp desktop app. To me, the purpose of having a global shortcut is to be able to create tasks without changing the context of the space you are working in.

Todoist has the same global shortcut functionality and it works without re-focusing you to their desktop app. This would be great to have with ClickUp

100% agreed. I'm typing in MS Word and I press Ctrl+E and then suddenly ClikUp jumps up and creates a new task!!! Quite annoying =(

Hey, voters! 👋
Thanks for writing in, I'm happy to help!
We do have a way for you to turn off the CTRL/CMD + e shortcut from your Desktop app. 🚀
Simply go to "My Settings" and select "Desktop App." You can then toggle the "Quick Create New Task" shortcut on or off and update your keyboard shortcut to a different combination of keys by clicking on the current keyboard shortcut!
You can find more details in our Hotkeys public doc here: https://docs.clickup.com/en/articles/1191778-hotkeys-and-keyboard-shortcuts
If this option isn't working for you please let us know. We'll be keeping an eye on this post! ☀️
Thanks!
