Create tasks on the top of Lists (or an option)

It would be very useful when creating tasks, to have them fall in from top to bottom. What I mean is, when I create tasks I think of what needs to be done first, second, third etc. But the way the "fall" the first goes to the end of the pile so to speak. It would be great to be able to select an option that would let my first created tasks stay at the top and all the rest go down from them. The way it is now I have to drag them all up in reverse constantly.

Hey, everyone!
We are happy to share that the "Add task" button found of the top of groups will now place tasks at the top most position.
Additionally, we fixed a bug where tasks created using this button would be moved to the bottom of your list after refresh.
Thanks!

Also going nuts over this, and it's partly this single thing that's reducing our team's desire to use ClickUp. We honestly end up in Google Docs all the time, because things added to ClickUp vaporize into the ether after being added, because they jump to the bottom of the list. Dragging them up can mean careful navigation and edge scrolling, sometimes over multiple screen.
Simply sorting by date isn't a workable hack. These are feature tasks, and their order actually has meaning.
This is sincerely the main reason that we only use ClickUp half as much as we'd like to. It's just such a curveball that happens many times a day, and suddenly, there's great peace in just having tasks in Google Docs.

This is a huge issue. Previously, we could click a button to move an item to the top of the list. Currently, the only way is to scroll which takes forever to move it up. It is not an answer to sort, because we need to prioritize what engineering is working on, and if you sort you cannot drag and drop and move things around. Please fix this. Need to create a task at top!
Dani
Workaround for this is to use the Date Created or Date Updated Field and sort by that field. Should give you what you are looking for depending on how you are wanting to see stuff. Date created doesn't show a timestamp to the minute but does appear to hold to that from a quick test.

In ClickUp 3, you can now add tasks to the top of the list using the add task button at the top of a section.
But there's a bug, which is what I think Alon Mizrahi is seeing too: if you add a task, it will let you enter it at the top. But if you hit save, it will jump to the bottom. Then if you wait a while, or switch back and forth between lists, it will appear at the top again.
That's clearly a bug that needs to be fixed.

Steven Mascaro I just verified this. It's a bug. Where can we submit this bug ClickUp Admin

i feel it's more of a bug than a feature, as it tricks you to see the creation of the task created at the top and suddenly it disappears.
for me the top is order by custom priority, and i would expect that when i have custom order, it will create that task on the same place it was edited

This is ... unusual to say the least. Even the comments on this page are sorted newest first by default! We're just trialling ClickUp, and this is pretty close to a dealbreaker. (The only reason it might not be is because ClickUp is so good in other ways.)

This feature will be very useful when we are creating multiple tasks at once. Apart from Sorting Newest first, it will also helpful if you provide an option to move "NewTask" button to the top of the list. So when you add multiple tasks, the button stays in the same place and tasks can be viewed immediately below it.

Even here, you have Sort by Newest first / Oldest first option for sorting comments – why the tasks cannot be sorted the same way?
