Create tasks inline in a doc

It would be great if checkboxes tuned into tasks automatically or if I had an inline task creatinon ability while editing a doc. Usually in meetings there are follow ups, and being able to have them in the doc and my task list without having to duplicate them manually would be great

Hey all! Within a Doc it is possible to convert text into a task which will allow your team to take action on things within the Doc. Does this satisfy what you are asking for or are there other situations where this doesn't help?
Thanks in advance!

Eric Wightman: Eric, no. See the comment below. You need to be able to invoke a command, say "@@", and then start typing and have what you are typing convert to the task. You can do that with Notion, Fibery. Going back and marking your text means you have to lift your hand from the keyboard to grab the mouse. That is a decent loss of efficiency when typing quickly.
Really hoping you guys will implement this!

Eric Wightman: Hi Eric, this is perfect!! This works wonders when having ana all hands meeting or weekly stand-ups, so everyone can actually define their own tasks as we're taking notes. Thank you for this update

Eric Wightman: Selecting text and then using
Command+option+T
to invoke the mini task creation dialog is great, but it would be even more awesome if you could complete the task creation process with just the keyboard, similar to how you can from a list view. It should be fairly straightforward as there are only a few fields to complete, and could potentially tab between the fields.Daphne Yiu
It's live! But missing a quick way to add due date. Estimated time isn't as helpful while doing meeting minutes. It's important to put the due date on what was promised. Otherwise, so far so good! I use the feature often.

Daphne Yiu: I think the request is about adding tasks "inline," meaning you invoke a command, such as "@@", and start writing to create the task . This is not the same as highlighting a task's name and creating it. Would love to see this get movement, as well as being able to do the same in task descriptions:
Thanks!

Yes please! This is one feature I've been looking for as I evaluate different project managment software.

Agreed this would be very helpful! In the doc, after the task is created, it needs to maintain the link. It seems like this is almost there since you can already link a line to a pre-existing task.

Absolutely would love to be able to generate agendas and minutes within Clickup so that we don't have to replicate material accross different platforms

100% support this! We would love to use docs for meeting minutes, and ending the need to replicate action items from the minutes within tasks would be a huge time saver!
