Copy / Create List from Template - View Inheritance

Not sure if I'm missing sth, but in V1, when you copy a folder (list) or create from template, the "view" (column config and sequence) is grandfathered to the new folder (list).
In V2, the view is dropped in the new folder (list).
Again, unless I'm missing sth, this means you need to define a new view for each new list.
Creating a view at the folder level only works when expanding all lists in a folder - if you open a single list, again, the view is dropped.
Need ability to apply a template to any folder (list) similar to the way custom fields can be accessed in any list.

You're able to copy views when using templates! If you don't want to bring over everything, choose the Custom import tab and select the items you'd like to have carried over.

I'd like to register a vote stronger than my +1. I'm glad this is in Planned state, but I consider this to be quite urgent—it's one of the major drags on our productivity with an otherwise very slick tool!
