I would like to have all my contacts; clients, vendors, and all other, on a local list in clickup. and I should have the ability to link every task to a contact.
Lets say I make a new task with a new incoming job. then i want to link this task to the client who ordered the job, so I should have easy the client info handy when opening the task. and also to view all tasks linked to that client. this would make me much more productive.

This is currently feasible in ClickUp with a little workaround.
- Create a new list
- Define your status with the contacts scope (ex: Client, Marketing, Supplier, Contractor, etc.)
- Add all your contacts in that list.
- Inside any task (or within list columns), add a link toward the related contacts using the custom fields or task field.

Olivier Berthelot the problem is that the contacts get in the way of the Project Progress because CONTACTS are Tasks...And they should NOT BE.
Contacts should have a separate category, that you can apply status (Potential Client, Active, Non Client, etc), but that the status does NOT affect the progress of a project (Gnatt View, Etc.)

I agree with Shlomo and I would add that there should the ability to link lists as well to contacts.
