Configurable UI colour scheme

Hiya, the default UI for clickup is grey on grey which I'm sure is great for young eyes. Dark mode is much better, but why not allow the user to make their own choices even in light mode - maybe allowing black text or higher contrast without going the whole hog into dark mode?

From support ticket: Odd color highlights & high contrast elements are distracting

Have you tried high contrast mode? It's toward the bottom in your profile settings.

Becky Hile: same as dark mode? Either way, having more control would be helpful and is something other tools manage!
Becky Hile
Paddy Robinson-Griffin: No, it's separate from dark mode.

Becky Hile: found it, apparently I had it switched on already, turned it off and saw little to no difference, as if everything is swimming or partly submerged in milk. Back into dark mode which is actually visible!

Paddy Robinson-Griffin: Yeah, admittedly they could probably increase the contrast more in high contrast mode. Here's an idea: maybe a contrast slider? That way they could still control the overall look but give people more ability to customize to their liking.

Becky Hile: that's not a bad idea. Frankly anything to give the user the choice as the user is the best placed to make that choice. Back in the early 90's I'd use Windows 3.1 and even then you could set your own palette for accessibility, we solved this problem a long time ago, and its only an arbitrary decision not to support user preferences like this when in 2019 it's just a case of browser cascading style sheets to implement!
