It's very important to be able to restore from trash deleted Comments and Attachments from a task

I accidentally deleted a huge PDF document that had 250+ comments that took the team months to QC and is unable to be restored for whatever reason. Since the download button is right above the delete button for some reason, this catastrophe has happened. This is incredibly poor UI and I don't even see why this should even be possible.

I also deleted a comment and later realized it contained a long, important dialogue with one of my AI Super Agents. As AI becomes more integrated into comments, chats, and other dialogue formats, situations like this will likely happen to many more people in the future.

It is ESSENTIAL to have this restore feature for comments and attachments.

'it's essential to have all the features that a regular email server like gmail offers. (Restore from trash, forward, undo sent, schedule emails, etc)
Philipp Berner
Would a 30 day time window for restoring from trash satisfy the requirements?
If not, what is the reason it should be longer?
Arnoud Post
Philipp Berner seems ok. If there would be a reason it is the same as for other trash related issues. There are no notifications or available permissions to set. Also the API is not able to read from trash. The result is that if someone in your team (or guest) deletes something, nobody knows unless you regularly check the trash... Which is not on my weekly to-do. So I've seen things dissappear for ever.
And due to the API it's also not possible to create a weekly trash report using automations.

Philipp Berner I would recommed at least a 4 months period. In France departure negociation could take up to 3 months. Add one month to be able to recover potential mistake done during that period.

The topic is still super important and would be very useful if the users or admins themselves could restore comments or more importantly deleted attachments.

I agree, I just deleted a comment by mistake and did not click undo. Now I cannot get the comment back. Very disappointed.

Deleted a comment from the iOS app because of a bug that made comments appear duplicated... and now I can't restore it. There was some important information in that comment thread...

I just realized this was not included in the trash. This can be very, very bad as my team and I often store notes as comments from meetings in tickets.
If we were to accidently delete that comment and not press undo afterwards it seems like the comment along with all its content would be lost forever.
