Client/Contact Records as a First-Class Entity in the Hierarchy
Stephen Winters
Service businesses organize work around people (clients), not projects. Every folder I create is named after a client. Every list inside it is a job for that client. But ClickUp has no native way to attach structured contact information (name, phone, email, address, photos) to a Folder in a way that displays prominently and links all jobs to that person.
Current workarounds (all clunky):
Pasting contact info into folder/list descriptions (unstructured, not searchable)
Creating a separate "Clients" list and using Relationship fields (adds clicks, doesn't display at the folder level)
Putting client info in a pinned task (a task isn't a person)
What I need: A "Contact" or "Client" record type that can be attached to a Folder. It should have structured fields (name, phone, email, address, photo) and display visibly as a header when viewing that folder's contents. All Lists inside that folder would inherit the client association.
Who this helps: Solo tradespeople, freelancers, agencies, consultants, property managers: anyone whose work is organized by who the client is.
