ClickUp AI should be able to access Time Tracking

Clickup AI doesn't seem to be able to access Time Tracked at all. I can't ask any questions about it and this would be very useful for many reasons.

I'm looking for similar functionality to Randal Hrytzak. I use the native Time Tracking ClickApp in ClickUp and want to be able to ask "how long person X has spent on average on Y task that is in Z status" or something similar to that.
I've also been using the Pulse section and that shows who has opened which task, for how long and when they were online, that would be great if the AI accessed that information too even to double check it's findings with the tracked time.

Nicholas Beddows: interesting use case, thanks for sharing.
It may require some prompting gymnastics, but I think you should be able to do this (or at least some of it).
I'd ask Brain to:
- Find all tasks in status Z
- Check assignee
- Retrieve time tracking data
- Sum total time per person
- Display results
You could try changing the order in which the data is retrieved if this doesn't work. Curious to hear how it goes for you — feel free to rate the response thumbs up/down so we can get to the bottom of it :)

Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) This is what I asked:
"Find task "CLIENT - M1 - Mashup 3"
Check assignee - "EMPLOYEE"
Retrieve time tracking data
Sum total time per status
Display results"
It gave me the information but in a strange way. It found the task, found the tag with the employee's name on it and gave the correct time tracked for the TOTAL amount of time, but not for how much time they tracked whilst it was in a specific status. I thought it would be able to figure that out since I can see that information in the comments section where the updates are, clicking "show more".
I also would have thought this information was available because I can see how long they've tracked time per day on a task through the timesheets page. The AI would just need to link up the fact that that task was in X status, and how long in that session time was tracked for.

Nicholas Beddows: thanks for sharing more detail. Sounds like it could be a limitation in the data Brain can access. I'll check with Eng.

Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) Has this update been released? I'm creating an AI agent which mirrors tasks to another list and it mirrors all the values apart from the time estimate field. I've tried multiple prompts but it doesn't seem to be able to read the time estimate field in any way.

Nick Hammond: we shipped a first iteration of this but have seen a few bugs. Most notably, some Agents had issues accessing time tracking data. We've shipped some fixes already and are actively working on this. Please shout if you're still seeing issues.
Maybe you could also try retrieving time tracking data via Ask AI and letting me know how it goes?
Brain describing what's currently supported: "ClickUp AI/Brain is designed to retrieve and summarize time tracking data for tasks, lists, and dashboards. The goal is for users to ask Brain for tracked time, time estimates, and breakdowns by user or period.

I've submitted a bug request for this because sometimes it works and other times it doesn't (or is wrong). This will be amazing when it works correctly on a consistent basis.

Chris Keseling: thanks for reporting and sorry for the inconvenience. We've shipped a fix for this today. Please shout if you're still seeing issues.

Any chance you can fix the Time Tracking API (bug report ID: CLK-574114) so it doesn't ignore Harvest time time entries while you are connecting it to AI?

Randal Hrytzak thanks for your feedback! This is one we want to address. Mind sharing a few of the use cases you have in mind so we can be sure to address them? :)

Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) this is great news - thanks! Here are a few we can think of:
- We would love the ability to report on times tracked over a period by task or list/task groupings or assignee - if we can do that based on custom field categories that would be most useful. We're looking for this at the list or folder level. This kind of reporting doesn't exist in any current capabilities.
- It's often useful to know not just what team members worked on by some prioritization in terms of what they spent their actual tracked time on. Using AI to do this reporting seems to be most power based on what we've seen of new AI reporting capabilities.
- We'd like to have this capability in the automatic AI agents as well to provide weekly reporting.
Thanks!

Randal Hrytzak: good news: we added the ability for Brain to search based on CF data AND access time tracking / time estimate data. I was testing it just last week. It'll be with you very soon -- would love your feedback when it's out :)
Randal Hrytzak
Alex Omeyer (ClickUp) that's excellent news - I'll be looking for it!
