Change date closed
Guido Hulscher
Sometimes I do my administration in ClickUp a day later. Since I have tasks that are recurring relative to the moment they were completed, I'd love to say "I completed this yesterday".

I need this functionality to be able to make my monitored hours panel grouped by TAG. If I forget to close the task at the correct time I lose all the metrics.
I am studying other tools on the market to switch platforms

Any update on this from the ClickUp team? A huge process flow oversight, unfortunately. Or maybe an overlooked bug?

Since, for the past few months, my recurring tasks have been recreating with the Date Closed of the first task in the recurring series, It would be appropriate to be able to manually set the close date, even if it must be done by an admin. Having another field for a second closed date means that every task would have to update that field and then there would be the issue with some dashboard cards that run off the system's Date Closed....

I have been facing the same issue, and it is difficult for me to keep track of when tasks were completed, and it is exhausting having to think that once you miss a date, you've missed it. The manual closed date change is needed for accuracy sake.

Please, please, please prioritize this.
As an exec/personal assistant/office admin, I have hundreds of little tasks in ClickUp that are recurring based on dates - sometimes I'm too busy to go in and close them out, and then it feels pointless since the whole timeline is off even closing the task out the next day.
It makes me not want to use ClickUp. And I have ADHD so I can't
not
use ClickUp. :')Example: I manage prescriptions for one of my execs; some are 30 day refills, some are 90 days. (There are loose/strict timeframes depending on the meds... some are taken strictly on schedule, some are less critical if a dose is missed so it might be 37 days before a refill is required, as opposed to 30 days.) Anyways, I just noticed a task for one of these refills from... last September. I know I picked some up for them a couple of weeks ago, so it's whatever... but now I don't want to "close" the task because I need it to remind me about the refill in another couple of weeks. I have resorted to keeping a separate Excel file just to manage these prescriptions. Just let me manually select the date the task was completed so I can avoid all this anxiety and workaround, thank you.

It’s is so helpful. I migrated my database to ClickUp but a can’t adjust the date closed!

This feature would be so helpful, particularly when things happen so fast that there is no time to comment on and close a task on time. When the date is wrong it gives inaccurate reports.

Seems odd that the ability to change the date of a status change hasn't been added as it has been a request for 4 years it would appear. Not only important for those who do not live in ClickUp, but also when setting up initially, would be nice to be able to reflect a little accurate history.

Yes, as a solo user this is the main thing stopping me using ClickUp regularly. If I log on a couple of times a week, not daily, everything is shown as overdue and if I move the due date to today then all my timelines and gantt charts become meaningless when I try to input what I have achieved that week

Bummer that I can't manually edit the Date Closed column alongside auto-closure. Metrics get affected when people don't shift them into the done status. Back-dating a completed task can help reflect more accurate metrics for reporting
