Change color of closed status

It's already possible to change the name of the closed status. Having the option to also change the color would be super nice!

Update Nov 2025: This feature is on our radar, but not on the committed roadmap at this time. We are hoping to get to this soon, and I'll keep this request updated with anything new as we move forward.

agree! Green is a super odd choice for a closed task. Considering green typically means go, active etc. Allowing the option to customize or change it to a different universal color like grey or a dark color.

Adding a comment to support this. Hopefully, this will be pushed soon into the roadmap.

Change color of "Closed" task status
Robert Thomas
The color of the "Closed" task status is a green that is similar to the color for "On Target".
This is an odd choice for "Closed" and is disliked by some of our staff. Please pick another color, such as blue or purple. Thank you.

I'm pretty shocked this has been a request for 6 years. This is a simple win folks! Green is an in progress inference not a finalized task.

Could someone on the dev team explain the difficulties with this one so we can understand why it has been pushed aside for 6 years?
Natalie Williams
TaeLynn Perez I've wondered the same about this request and many others. Some things don't make sense, like waits on what one would think are simple adjustments (like this request) and some of the "updates" (moving the location of the multi-action bar...my teams and I are still wondering why in the world it was moved so that it decreases usable space and conflicts with the pop-up messages when actions are performed). So bizarre.

This is extremely frustrating. I also can't hide it in the view. 6 years later? Really ClickUp?
Bruno Patrus
This is not that hard. Love ClickUp but sometimes these small things are so annoying.
