Change 4.0 Sidebar Navigation Back!
Frank Filippelli
The last sidebar navigation was pretty good, effective yet simple... This new way is far to complicated and cluttered for most people to understand especially new users that I'm trying to onboard and get comfortable with this app. I like that Clickup is always trying to innovate but sometimes these drastic changes just make the app less intuitive and harder to use. Please consider changing it back!!! 🙏😫

V4.0 Sidebar Mayhem
Nathan Boyer
Why does Home now have its own sidebar that includes Spaces, Chats, All Tasks etc., but then those same locations/menus are repeated in the main sidebar RIGHT BESIDE the Home sidebar? Home needs to be more focused. Why would I want All Spaces and All Tasks listed in my curated Home page? I should
leave
the focused Home to the broader Spaces/Everything to access outside information. This new UI is going to be super confusing for my older users that want one straightforward way to access each item and don't want to have to customize three different menus to get a working layout. The default interface needs to be WAAYYYY simpler. It was still confusing me after a day, and I'm good with software navigation.

I fully agree! We do NOT want to move to 4.0. We prefer 3.0 and have been manually switching back to it. Please reconsider this forced change that your customers do not want.

Testing 4.0 reminds me of the quote from Steve Jobs "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. It takes a lot of hard work to make something simple, to truly understand the underlying challenges and come up with elegant solutions. [...] It's not just minimalism or the absence of clutter. It involves digging through the depth of complexity. To be truly simple, you have to go really deep. [...] You have to deeply understand the essence of a product in order to be able to get rid of the parts that are not essential."
Moving from 2.0 to 3.0, the UI became more cluttered, with more space wasted, and more clicks needed for navigation. Now with 4.0, that's all been increased even further.

Agree with the OP. I dread next week when our entire workspace has to switch to 4.0. It will be a mess.
Users will lose favourites, minimized tasks and personal layouts. These should have been preserved.
Interface is reshuffled without ANY visible benefit. If anything, things are now harder to find and do.
I love you ClickUp, but this is not an improvement. Just an unwanted complication.
Sara
It seems like ClickUp features that have changed in the last year or so are adding extra clicks needed to get to where you want to go. Less clicks, please!
Frank Filippelli
Sara Yes I completely agree! It appears they are taking their company name "ClickUp" a little too literally. We need ClickLess haha!
Natalie Williams
Sara agreed! Every update seems to add more clicks, while decreasing the usable space, making more wasted space.
