The box over the card is also incredibly distracting. That should be on the bottom of the card where it doesn't cover any part of the card. But most importantly bring back 1-click close. Why would anyone want to open a task or open status menu to mark a task as complete especially when it's available in Task View.

Hm, if you will make it that it's enough just to hover and the "Done" option appears there it would work for my team. If, on the other hand, it would require two clicks, that's (as funny as it may sound), inefficient.

The team has been ideating on a new solution to this experience and has come up with a design that we'd love to hear your thoughts on.
As shown in the attached design mockup, we've added the 'Mark Complete' button to on-hover menu. This provides a similar experience to legacy Board view while maintaining the clean UI you see today.
What does this mean for bulk action toolbar selection?
Now that tasks can be selected with 'Shift + click', we no longer need to show the BAT checkbox all the time. Instead, we've modified the design to only shown the BAT checkbox when a single task is already selected. When looking into our metrics we saw that BAT is used ~3% of the time after landing in a Board view (within 10minutes) therefore we think replacing this button for one-click-to-close is an adequate solution to provide a simple on-hover menu. Let us know what you think!

Michael except the shift + click selects everything between two tasks? Unless I'm missing something how do you bulk select 3 tasks that are not directly connected in one column?

Michael - It would not be "mark complete, though, It would be a status icon so we can change the status, correct?

Mandy Webb: For that functionality, you'll want to display the Status field on your Board or open a separate request.
This request is specifically for the one-click close functionality which legacy Board view supported (see attached photo)
