Breadcrumb Consistency for Sidebar Task Layout 3.0
planned
Colin Cormac
Currently the breadcrumbs behave differently on the Sidebar task layout. There is no way to get directly to the list from the breadcrumb.
In both the other layouts clicking on the list name will take you to the list. This is very helpful.
However, in sidebar there is no way to get to the list.

I agree, whenever I open a task from home and want to navigate from that task to the list it resides in, there is no way to get to that list from the task when using the sidebar view. I'll have to navigate to the list manually which is relatively time consuming.

We are working with design to clean up our subtask sidebar to be a bit more consistent. Its a bit tight when users have small screens so we need to be smarter on how we handle that design.

Ivan Villa: It's tight, but why would you waste that tight space on a task name that is already visible below? If that's not a part of some vision it's strange seeing the task name twice while not seeing the full breadcrumbs.
Also, if it doesn't have enough space you probably can replace space name with it's icon and folder name with just folder icon. I don't know if it's a good idea but it still provides a way to click on those and to navigate to a specific location.
Also, you can use your regular tool tip to reveal the full path when hovering over the shortened view of the breadcrumbs.

Nick Kadutskyi: thats actually part of the change, we are removing the duplicate task names :)

Ivan Villa not related to the subtask sidebar but for breadcrumbs on dependencies it would be amazing if in list view when clicking the dependency icon or the dependencies/linked tasks in columns if breadcrumbs were added. And in the task view when viewing the dependencies/linked tasks in the right column, breadcrumbs really need to be added.
There are quite a few threads related to the addition of breadcrumbs for linked tasks/dependencies.
