It would be incredible if there was an option to launch a form from a task or subtask, have it prefilled out with relevant data from the existing parent level project, and when the form is submitted have it added to overall project.
This might make more sense if I help paint our use case. We deal with research. We use lists as our container for projects. We have some small projects that take a few weeks to large projects that take years to complete. Each project has a parent task that contains all of the custom fields and data about the task and then multiple (sometimes hundreds) of sub-tasks, with varying sub-task levels.
We have internal teams that help with part of the process for some of these projects. For instance, we have a team that will create a Qualtrics survey if it's needed for the project. Currently in order to involve these internal teams a separate form (tied to a separate list) has to be filled out with information about what the team needs to do. This is fine, but a lot of the data that the internal team needs is already data in the parent task. This means that when the form is filled out, data is duplicated and it takes extra unneeded time to fill out. It would be amazing if when a form is being filled out for an internal team request that it was prepopulated with as much data as possible from the project parent task.
When the form is filled out it creates a new task for the internal team. This is helpful for the internal team, but now the project owner and stake holders don't know the status of the request for the internal team. Sure we could link the task to the parent or sub-task, but that means clicking over to this other task and it isn't included in any reporting of the primary task. It would be incredible if this task created by the form (and any subtasks that are created from a template for the task created) would be added into the main project. This would help stake holders be able to see the full status of the project at any given time without jumping all over our workspace.
