Better Billing Options and More Transparency around AI Add-Ons
Blake Hodges
Clickup's approach to billing and communication around their new AI features are stunningly bad.
1) Give customers more options as to how they can add the service on (or just include it in certain plans to make it even more simple for everyone). Selecting specific members that can use the add-on, more options of time-frames, etc.
2) Price. at $336 per User per year, for a company of any size this scales to become impossibly expensive. I would gladly pay a more reasonable rate for AI. But that kind of pricing not only turns us away, it actively frustrates us.
3) Communication around trial period. The "trial" ends with no warning. There's no time warning, no usage warning. It's simply there one minute, gone the next. How the clickup team could think this wouldn't frustrate every user is beyond me.
4) Transparency of available AI features. The "trial" doesn't make it clear what features are available or not. And then when the trial ends, it's impossible to simply "try" some of the AI features. This renders the possibility of spending the egregious amount of money for the AI add on even less likely than before.
