Basic math in custom fields with numbers and currency
Henrik Hjort
When entering a number in currency or numbers custom field like this:
92*21
(23400+18)*2
188+13
The rusulting value should of cause just be resulting value.
For me usecases could be
* Calculating cost
* Subtracting values from a status/stock amount.

Hi Henrik Hjort thanks for reaching out! Any reason why you can't or don't want to use a Formula Custom Field for these use cases? Cheers!

Caroline Ginty Its only for all the times that you need to do a quick calculation. haveing a custom field with fomulas would require me to make the hole system too complicated. To be clear I dont want the formula to remain in the field. I simply find that the very simple caluclation in the "numbers" field would be practial.
E.g. I am a industrial designer, so I'm using clickup to get anoverview of cost. so I often have a unit price that i provided by the supplier, but som suppliers just give me a price at a cirtain volume. e.g 500 pcs. for 289 USD. Since I get the unit price from most suppliers I just need a quick conversion. I can of cause use a caluclator, but it would be very practical to have it in the numbers field aready.
The same if I get all my prices en Euro but some suppliers give it in USD. Then It would be nice to do a quick calculation with out having to leave clickup..
I also use it to keep track of how many parts I have in storrage so when I take 12 parts from a box, I woul love to just click the value and write -12 and avoid the resulting value 454 wrong. Especially since the value.
