Hello all - this feature is under development. We are expecting to invite you to a beta release in late August. Stay tuned.

Our team has been using a custom field to track forecasted completion dates for key milestones as a workaround for the lack of a baseline feature. I’m really excited about the potential of this functionality being built into ClickUp! Will the baseline be automated, capturing the original planned dates once they are set, capturing the original planned dates once set, or will it require manual input (e.g., tied to milestone creation)? Either way, having an integrated baseline view would be a huge step forward for planning and reporting across portfolios.

Bugra Oktaythanks can't wait

Bugra Oktay thanks for the update!
Just a question: Will this be in the GANTT chart only or will there be fields that allow us to report on slippage between actual vs. planned?
JMartinez
Bugra Oktay Perfect!!!, Thank you team

Bugra Oktay will there be a possibility to auto-remap dates from planned ending to actual ending (eg. based on specified status)?

Bugra Oktay oh nice this is a big one

Bugra Oktay this is a table-stakes feature for project management software, glad you're developing it and eager to access it. Will this also be leveraged as a card in dashboards for reporting?

I came here for this and upvoted it. Our small team is just starting to use CU for upcoming projects, and this baseline function seems like an obvious choice. We want to hold ourselves accountable and avoid accidental changes to dates.
I would love to know the exact date when this function will be implemented. In the meantime, what workarounds do you all use?
- Custom baseline fields for start and end dates?
- Duplicating tasks and setting them to a baseline status?
- Using tags?
I'd love to hear how you manage this!

Bumping all of the other requests for an update on timeline for delivery of baseline vs actual tracking. This is absolutely critical. Thanks!

Hello everyone,
As I mentioned earlier, we are in the process of building this feature and I would love to get this group's thoughts on a few things.
Please help shape the feature using this survey:
(It should take 1 to 2 mins)
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Bugra Oktay The link attached does not guide me to a specific form. Could you kindly check this?

Bugra Oktay Survey Done!

Bugra Oktay to add a little more explanation to my feedback. First step is to get the timeline baseline. If adding additional features will delay this (e.g. baselining budget/costs held in custom fields), I would prefer to first get the timeline baseline and then layer in additional baseline capability at a later date.

Thank you for all the feedback provided so far. Very insightful.

Hey Bugra Oktay
Here is a screen shot of how I like baselines to show in MS Project, and what I hope to be able to see in ClickUp Gantt view.
- Orange = baseline dates
- Aqua = current dates

Bugra Oktay It works now. Thank you.
The form looked familiar, so I might have give my input twice.
