Woot woot! Baselines in Gantt is now generally available!
Please give it a go and let us know of any feedback you might have.
What's next?
We'll go beyond visualization! Baselines will soon automatically add task fields that hold date and status information for each snapshot. This will allow you to process the information (e.g. calculate delays per task) and use it for reporting.

Bugra Oktay Amazing!!!!!!!

Hi Bugra Oktay, thanks for this but please can you share the ETA on the fields? Without this, from our perspective it is a useful visual indicator but we can't do meaningful comparisons or alerts...
Melanie von Schorlemer
Bugra Oktay Yey, looking forward to the extension of this new feature.

Tony Henderson: I'm targeting for users who had signed up for beta to get those fields in April followed by general availability in May.
Tony Henderson
Bugra Oktay Ok, sounds good. Please, please, please prioritize this. It is highly critical for our business and will help deliver efficiency on multiple levels. Reading some of the other comments, I am not alone.

Bugra Oktay Good headstart for the baseline functionality. I have a question though. The bars seem to be showing the start date and the due date of a task/subtask, and the baseline captures a snapshot of the whole task list at a certain timestamp. While I am fine with the baseline doing that, the thicker bars should then be showing the start date and
the date closed
of the tasks, so that we can visualise the delays or ETA etc.. This is problematic if we add new tasks (hence overwriting the "baseline" to show new timelines) and adjust the bars of old tasks to visualise the actual vs planned progress. When you work on the baselines and gantt charts, would it be possible if you link the baselines and the thicker bars to different fields, or let people choose which dates to link to?
Jehad Al Muhaimeed
Can we add the relations (SS,FS,SF,FF) + lag as well?
B
Bugra Oktay
Jehad Al Muhaimeed: We are indeed working on that. I'll announce the beta for it soon.
Pedro Melendez
Bugra Oktay - Do you have an idea of what time you’ll be making this announcement?

Thank you for the Baseline functionality. Is there a limitation in Baseline usage, like number of Baselines we can set per project or overall at the space or organisation level?
B
Bugra Oktay
Anandan Damodaran: For most plans, 10 baselines per location is the limit.

Anandan Damodaran
Bugra Oktay hi,
Just want to be clear. What do you mean by location? Is it a folder, a list, a space or a workspace?
B
Bugra Oktay
Anandan Damodaran: I meant, for any given list you'll have 10 baselines. For each folder that contains those lists, you get another 10. Same for spaces.
Klaus Wiethoff
fantastic feature. that helps a lot thx
B
Bugra Oktay
Klaus Wiethoff: So glad to hear that. Thank you for the note.

Bugra Oktay
Good news everyone! We are releasing Baselines next week.
Huw Whyment
Bugra Oktay is there any difference to the Beta?
Patricia Soares Del Carlo
Bugra Oktay what day will it be available?
Veronika Berankova
Bugra Oktayis it still in beta? I would like to have this feature as well.
B
Bugra Oktay
Huw Whyment: Bug fixes and polish but mostly the same.
B
Bugra Oktay
Patricia Soares Del Carlo: We rolled out gradually through last week. It should be on for your workspace now.
B
Bugra Oktay
Veronika Berankova: It's generally available. Just go to a Gantt view to try it.
Jehad Al Muhaimeed
I was trying to move to Monday because of this feature
This is very important feature and we are requesting to have it ASAP
Can you please give us exact dates to be released?
B
Bugra Oktay
Jehad Al Muhaimeed: Coming to a workspace near you next week.
B
Bugra Oktay
Jehad Al Muhaimeed: you should have it enabled for your workspace now.
Melanie von Schorlemer
yes, this is an essential feature. I would like to see the deviation of days between completion and planned/scheduled as well the deviation of due date (when changed) and planned/scheduled. It would be great to have this as a field in the GANTT chart view.
Bugra Oktay I left this in my feedback on the Baseline feture.
B
Bugra Oktay
Melanie von Schorlemer: Yes, very soon, we will provide the actual and baseline dates as fields. All you'll need to do is to create a formula field to see the deviation.
Melanie von Schorlemer
Bugra Oktay Dear Bugra, this is exciting. Do you have a rough timeline when you will provide the actual and baseline dates as fields? I have built a workaround at the moment, and I would love to discontinue this manual solution.

Bugra Oktay
Melanie von Schorlemer: I'm targeting for users who had signed up for beta to get those fields in April followed by general availability in May.

Woot! Baselines in Gantt is almost here! We'll be releasing this feature in the next two weeks.

Bugra Oktay oumamma!!!! Great!!!!
Henrik Hjort
Bugra Oktay YES! Finally great job... But heads up, theres a bug:
It does not show the baseline when tasks only have a due date. That means that most deadlines will now show any baseline. Thats really a requirement as its often daeadlines and final duedates that have the biggest consequenses when they change.
B
Bugra Oktay
Henrik Hjort: We just fixed that issue. It should soon show as expected.
Business Development PIP
Fully support this request! Also need it urgently.
B
Bugra Oktay
Business Development PIP: It's coming next week
