I think this is one of the main tools required for a proper PM: I need to have parent entities being affected by changes/activities to subtasks.
Very basic case: subtask is Due, and there's no way for me to see, that the parent task has issue (as obviously one of the steps isn't done in time).

Yes today we just have the when all subtask complete automation...
We need automations that get a subtask instance and can change something on its parent and vice versa, a parent changing something on one of its subtasks! ASAP

Yeah I have Tasks that have 8 Subtasks. When the first 5 specific Subtasks are completed/closed I need the Task to automatically change it's Status to the next column over.
If the next specific 3 Subtasks are completed then I need the parent Task to change it's Status again to the next Status column.

It is so hard to keep ClickUp clean when using parent tasks with subtasks - I'll have multiple subtasks in motion and the parent task is still TO DO. Having this would make my life so much easier as a project manager who can't always see everything my team starts within a subtask.

we do product automations with costs & quantities as subtasks and it just seems like it would make a ton of sense for the parent task (our clients) to have a total cost automatically attributed to them instead of us manually adding up service costs and inputing the data

our team is desperate to have something like this. If a task is in a particular status, and it goes from "no subtasks" to a new subtask being created, we want the parent task to update its status to reflect it needs to be looked at.

Yes, this would be great - when a subtask is completed, the parent task should be able to change status

Also instead of the Progress bar, should be amazing to have a column that will display the actual assignee that is currently working on a subtask without expanding subtasks and looking for it. We currently use a dashboard with filtered team members for subtasks in progress but you have to hover over to see the main task name.

Our team is looking for the same automations, When a subtasks is completed- update the parent Task status the next stage. Also, time tracking when a subtask is open to in progress trigger timer and stop time tracking when that subtask is completed
