Automations | When something happens on a parent task (i.e. status closed), then do something on its subtasks
Zach - ClickUp
Examples:
- When status is closed on the parent task, also close the subtask
- When due date is set on the parent task, also set the due date on the subtask

Adding into the mix, we could really use this! The sub-task statuses keep throwing our processes/team off. Would love to see this added soon!

Really need this

We use some subtasks as a tracking tool and if it's parrent task is "done", then we always close the subtask as well. That's happens every day many times. So automation would be really beneficial! Tasks with specific custom field would automatically close their subtasks once they are "done". We would use it also on other cases, but this one is the biggest pain.

When a subtask is created, it automatically adds the tag of the parent task. This would open up a lot of other automation possibility.

I would like an automation for closing subtasks when I changed the parent task's status.

Yes! this automation needs to be enabled. Would really be beneficial for repeatable task/services.

I would like a CUSTOM FIELD on a Parent task to trigger an action on a CUSTOM FIELD in the sub task.

I would like a CUSTOM FIELD on a Parent task to trigger an action on a CUSTOM FIELD in the sub task. (i.e. duplicate the custom field to the subtask so that I can see it in a list that shows only the subtasks

Yes! As an example, the ability to have everything (statuses, custom fields, etc.) be unique on a subtask is of course very useful, but it can also cause confusion for some when they want the Subtask to reflect much of the same core information/settings as the parent task. Would love to be able to tell a subtask to adopt some of the same information as the parent.
