Please. I would like status to be changed when a task is "waiting on" another task

Any progress on it?

2024 is gonna be a great year for this feature for sure!

Any word on if this is tucked in to 3.0 Brent Evans Eric Wightman Kimberly Clarkson Brendan W Joey??!!

What I would like to be able to do:
If I create a Task in one List (List A), then I will automatically create a series of tasks (Let's just call them Tasks 1, 2, 3) in another List (List B).
But..
I want to create dependencies, automatically, with those newly created specific tasks.
So, I might want Task 1 to be Blocking Task 2, and Task 2 to be Blocking Task 3.
Right now, when I have an automation that creates a series of tasks, I have not manually go into the tasks and set up various dependencies and it's not ideal.

When task Links are removed automate status change
Kimberly Clarkson
Support ticket: It's possible to automate a status change when a task is linked. It would be great to remove the task link and have the status change automated then too.

My need is to be able to have one list with tasks that represent a number of subnets. Each net can or cannot be linked to a unit in another list.
I need to be able to keep track of which subnet is available and which are occupied by the units in the other list
My scenario:
- A subnet is created as a ticket in List A. It is not allocated to a unit, it therefore has the status "Available"
- The subnet is allocated to a unit in List B. The two tasks are linked. I can create an automation which makes the subnet in List A change status to "Allocated", when the two tasks are linked.
so far all is fine
- The unit in list B does not need the subnet. The link between the tasks are removed
Now I need the task in List A to change status again, from "Allocated" to "Available", but there is no way as of today to automate that status change when the link is removed

It would help me to be able to tie automations to a specific subtask, rather than the automations occuring any time some makes a change in the space.

Using automations, I can create new tasks when another task is created. But, if I want to make the new tasks dependent on that first task, there is currently no way to do that. I would have to manually find those new tasks and make them related to the first task.

Automation combined with dependencies
Naya
It would be wonderful if dependencies could be combined with an internal automation. For example:
I have a stage "stuck/waiting", colored red.
I would like a task to jump automatically to this stage when a dependency "waiting on another task" is set. And when this other (blocking) task is moved to "closed" I would like my not-blocked-anymore task to go to the stage "next" automatically.
