Any update on task type-related automations?
I get error "CUSTOM_ITEM_019" when trying to create the following automation sequence:
When
- If "Tag added" = "TriggerTag"
Then
- "Change Task Type" = "CustomTaskType"
and
- "Move to list" = "DesiredList" + "Move & Keep in Current List"="Yes"
and
- "Change Status" = "DesiredListCustomStatus"
I am able to create an automation as follows with no issues:
When
- If "Task Type Changes" = "CustomTaskType"
Then
- "Move to list" = "DesiredList" + "Move & Keep in Current List"="Yes"
and
- "Change Status" = "DesiredListCustomStatus"
I'd prefer to have my team use tags (as I'm using tags already, to trigger other automations and it'll be easier than adding a "new" feature like custom task types) but it'll only be useful if I can use it to trigger an automation like this...
Apologies if this is the wrong thread and/or if this format is confusing. First time posting here. Not a programmer. Just an admin trying to get my team to use ClickUp as much as possible!

Giovanna La Terza: We're getting errors too.

We are getting an error when using a custom field to try to automate the task type change.

Thanks for the implementation!
There is "Change task type" action, there is "Task type is..." condition, but we are missing one more thing that was possible with custom fields - "Task type changed" event trigger. Zach - ClickUp can you tell us if this is on a roadmap? Should we make a feature request for that?
Edit: I can see that it has been mentioned in the comments below and also on your screenshot, so I believe it didn't make it into a recent release as it's still in progress.

Zach - ClickUp: When I try to use this automation at the Space level, I get the following error: "You dont have access to this custom task type CUSTOM_ITEM_019" - It does however work at the Folder and List levels!

Sadly, we get an error msg «CUSTOM_ITEM_019» if we create an automation on space level with a custom task type

Zach - ClickUp: When done, will it be possible to write something like this?
If Custom Field XYZ (a dropdown field) changes from Any to ABC (dropdown option), set Task Type to DEF.

Have Task Type in trigger logic

I would like to differentiate between which types of tasks I want things to happen for. It doesn't make sense for an entire milestone or epic to be moved into an active sprint, but a task does. Along with specifying 'active sprint' as a location, I should be able to specify that any non-epic/milestone tasks changed to In Progress should be added to the active sprint folder (plus whatever other folder I want).

We're doing Trigger, condition and action for task types
