automation on overdue tasks
Luděk
In automation, I need the choice "When the task is overdue". Then I can do something with them, such as change the due date to today (I hope today is relative).

THIS WORKS. (edit the "THEN" to suit your needs.)

Ash you are a lifesaver. this is an amazing workaround.

I agree, I need an automation option for "when the task is overdue".
I'm trying use the "when the task is overdue" to trigger an automation to change the status of a task or set a rating value. I'm currently looking for a work around since the automation options I've tried (shown in pictures) don't work! They only work for dates after the due date, not overdue due dates.
Hopefully this becomes an option in the future, cause this would make my life a lot easier.

Tyanna Canaan try this instead; it's working for me 🙏 (put whatever you want in the "THEN" section.)

Need this as well. Cannot fathom why this is not a feature already for project managment software

Luci N. I see you are the latest admin on this, would you mind providing som feedback where this issue is in your current evaluation. It feels like "over due" is an obvious and essential trigger for project management tool and it feels more like an oversight then a design choice - Perhaps I'm wrong?
I event feel there should be an option to have trigger on task that are overdue by several days. E.g. to make sure your clinents are updated on tasks or support issues that are delayed.

Hey hey! "Current Date Is > After > Due Date" works as a condition!
For those looking for a trigger, there's one called "Due date arrives" that might work.

Considering this has been requested back in 2022, can your team provide us with a time estimate of when we can expect this feature? 1 month, 1 year, Or is it not coming at all?
Lara
Can we also add
"When the task is overdue" > Add a comment
"When the task is overdue" > Setup reminder

Adding to this, can the trigger be something like "When the task is overdue" by X number of days, or x number of days after the due date if the task is Not complete, or not a specific status, then do X, Y or Z

Luci N. We are moving from Todoist to Clickup and this seems like task management 101. The idea that you can look at it first thing in the morning and bring all overdue tasks up to today seems like a core offering that should be in Clickup. Will be very disappointed if there is not someway to handle this.
Luci N.
Hey, Richard Campbell! Thank you so much for sharing your use case and feedback on this request! I can definitely see how having an Automation trigger for overdue tasks would be helpful! The Automations Product Manager will update this request with any new details to share!

I need this feature so bad, one that will keep times in order for tasks that are automatically moved to the next day so that… tasks that are already set for that next day arent moved but the incoming tasks get sorted by time due with them. Right now when mass moving tasks they usually appear at the bottom and i have to spend more time sorting. I think i spend 30 min to 1hr a day sorting my to dos.
I also could really use my imported calendars events be able to be shown in board view/by due date. And have tasks fall into their time slot amongst appointments etc. Right now i have to click on calendar view and when you have 30 tasks you can only see 4 or 5, not enough to really plan. So currently i have my clickup calendar ( ill usually just look at my google calendar and then airbnb calendar and turno calendar all separately. then my appointment calendar instead of one place. It wastes so much time and i need the help.
