Implementing this properly would probably take months to a year of development. There are many solid feedback requests here that have been pending for years (such as auto-resource leveling like Microsoft Project).
I've been a paid user of Skedpal since 2021 and it's way better than Motion. But even after all these years, it still lacks an API or integration with Clickup.
Maybe the Clickup team should consider reaching out to Skedpal to jointly work on a bidirectional integration? It's a lot cheaper than replicating their features, it can lead to commission deals on both sides and subscription discounts for members. That's a triple win across the board.

Would be a really useful feature I was using clickup since last 3 years now I moved to skedpal

This feature alone would make me fully commit to ClickUp and use it as my sole single source of truth for all my tasks.

Esteban Ibarra Completely agree. Missing this function makes it hard for me to commit using Clickup.

AI scheduling of day (and one-click rescheduling of today's incomplete tasks)
MC Carter
A new app called Motion (https://www.usemotion.com/) has the ability to automatically schedule the user's day based on tasks, due dates, task priorities, internal meetings, external meetings, meeting status (e.g. flexible internal ones that can be moved if they conflict), work hours etc. and has a 'Reschedule unfinished' button that auto-reschedules the user's tasks from today's schedule (calendar in the app) to the next available and logical day and time in the user's calendar. It would be AWESOME if the Calendar feature on ClickUp's home screen had similar functionality.
I can see these buttons on the Home screen at the top of the Calendar pane on the right of screen:
- "Auto schedule day" and
- "Reschedule today's incomplete"
This would save me many hours each week in working out which tasks to do each day.
It would make sense, obviously, to have the AI scheduling feature to schedule out the coming week (or 2 weeks), too.
Here are some videos to watch, to understand what Motion is doing with AI-based scheduling of tasks:
Motion Intro https://youtu.be/jnGfIKSAE7E
Motion Task Manager https://youtu.be/ucjccQdOQx8
Currently in ClickUp the scheduling of tasks (using the Calendar function on the Home screen) is a useful feature, but it's a manual and time-consuming task, especially when tasks are not completed on the scheduled day (today).
Even just adding the "Reschedule today's incomplete" button to the Calendar in ClickUp would be a massive improvement. This button could simply move each task to the same time on the next workday.
Hope that all makes sense!
Thanks!

Automatic Scheduler
Drag Ivko
An option to specify how much time one has available and have CU recommend which task to work on during that window.
i.e.
Input in the scheduler that you have 30 mins available, and have CU analyze task due dates, time estimates, priorities and some other attributes and suggest which tasks could be worked on in those 30 mins.

it would be good if there were a way to automatically schedule the tasks like in reclaim. Furthermore, it would be great if this could also respect the priority and due date to order them optimally.

Ability to add tasks to reclaim, which will then put them into your calendar AND move them as needed based on when meetings get booked. https://reclaim.ai/

I'd like to have my tasks organised automatically like AI in timehero
Adam Palethorpe
I'd like to be able to input tasks and have the software look at my calendar and put the task in a relevant place. Like the AI time organisers I'm being bombarded with via ads. I'm currently testing out timehero and it's a great feature. It links to outlook to show available blocks of time then schedules the tasks for me

I have added Sunsama to my teck stack recently. I would love to see Clickup have something similar. Like the ability to drag and drop all your tasks for that day. I love the plan and review and drop into google cal. I also love I can integrate with Gmail and also other task management like Asana which some of my clients use. I love you can allocate X minutes to a task and then drag and drop to fill out your day. I feel like this could be incorpated into Home.

This would be a great idea. I love Sunsama. If you could bake in features like Sunsama's auto scheduler/rescheduler that would be amazing.
