Auto-assignment & Rules
complete

Add auto-assignment so that if a task is tagged, moved to a status or some other trigger occurs it should auto assign someone/remove certain people from the task (if multiple assignees).
I assume to accomplish this it would require rules to be added to the product and a dashboard of its own.
Further to this, but in the same realm of Rules, I'd like to have the ability to setup a rule that could auto tag, auto assign sub-tasks/checklists to a task if a trigger occurs; for example I move a task to a status or assign a team member who has UI expierience (the tag UI could be applied to it when that UI guy is added to the task).

yes and yes again. we have contractors that jump in and out to handle tasks, and we'd simply love if they start the timer then they are automatically assisgned, and when the timer stops, the get unassigned. whoever starts the timer by default should be the assignee for that moment.

With ClickUp Automations, you can now have certain Triggers cause an Action to occur!
There are lots of options for this, and changing assignees is one of them.

Brendan W: Are there global automations already implemented? So I can for example set all new tasks to be assigned to me without setting it in all lists/folders?

I would like it to be triggered in the same way Outlook/emails are triggered.
E.g.: If Clickup Task description field has "blah"
Clickup will assign that Task to "blah"

In the most simplest form for this, would be great if when you move a task status, it automatically assigned it to you

+1 for me on this - auto assignment based on task item status being changed (mainly for editing and subsequent updating tasks). We are an agency and all work product from our designer goes through an initial and final review.

Yes, we have different owners based on the status and would love to see the owner auto-assigned when the status is changed.

+1 from me as well — can we use Zapier as a workaround for now?

We need this for all of the reasons here. Our statuses are often connected directly to individuals and auto-assignment would be massively beneficial, across the board.

I'd like it to autoassign to the next subtask owner.
So if your subtasks are:
- write
- edit
- amend
- proof
- publish
Then as soon as the writer check their subtask as done, the editor gets assigned to the task.
This helps because manually switching over is tedious and can easily be forgotten. It allows the second person in to just scan a board for their face / their task to appear in their personal view of the Kannan board as soon as they're ready

Automatically Assign System

It would be nice nice to have a system where when you assign tasks to a specific list, they automatically assign to someone. E.G, a new task is added to "My Backlog", it's assigned to me. Configurable per list, possibly with a configurable default priority as well
