attach existing ClickUp doc to a task
Sarah G
add a previously created ClickUp doc as an attachment in a task. It gives me the new doc option, but not from an existing one.

This tiny little plus sign is often missed by my team. They start creating a doc from me referencing a template in a comment and then it doesn't show up in the attachments. To have to scroll through the comments to find a doc is frustrating and a big time suck. Please prioritize this feature!!!

I figured it out!, instead of using command tool "/", use "@" and it lets you link a person, a task or a doc! (this is for when you want a central doc to be seing in this automated new tasks, more fore information, guides, etc)

Diego Orozco: Thank you! So simple, once you understand how it works.

Hello everyone, I started using Clickup 1 month ago to set up the operation (product belt) in the Board format (Kaban).
I made a template with everything that each collaborator needs to do to follow the flow. There is - in this task/card - a Doc file, which contains information about this product, which will be edited during the performance of the task by the team.
The final question is: When duplicating this template task, the attached file is not duplicated, that is, the new task pulls the Doc from the previous task, causing the original template file to be changed, but we need the Doc to be duplicated as well - a new. Is there a way to duplicate the task and the attachment (Doc) is also duplicated, creating a new copy?
Ps.: I searched 2 days in the Clickup help center, forums and Google, but I didn't find an answer. Hope you can help us with this. 😃🤞

This request is crucial for me too. there are some situations in that i want to attach a task to an existing doc.

So frustrating that you can only attach a new doc, rather than existing!

I need the doc to appear in the attachments area because that's where my team goes to find assets related to a task on a card. While I can use @@@ to reference a doc in the comment/messaging part of the task card on the right, things in that area tend to get lost because they are not recognized as assets like the other attachments. It is possible to create a NEW clickup doc in the attachment area, but that's not great either because then I have to copy/paste existing docs etc. Attaching a native clickup doc to a native clickup task seems like an oversight rather than an intentional choice.
A+
It should be available for adding a page to a task. It's good to manage in some case

This is crucial. Adding all those features to Doc means nothing if we can't link them to tasks and such...

It would be great if we could get this. Seems like an easy win! :-)
