Hi Everyone, thank you for sharing your feedback. This feature request is focused on being able to apply Hierarchy templates (List/Folder/Space) to existing objects. For example, being able to apply a List template to a List, and it handling merging - adding, appending, or updating data. This feature is also a pre-requisite to being able to tackle our #1 canny request for retroactively applying templates everywhere it was used after editing the master template.
We are first going to focus on making it easier to create and edit templates (e.g. Template Editor). And then this will be the next big whale we tackle.
There are a lot of different requests embedded in the comments so to make sure you're voting on the correct feature requests, here are some of the other ones you may want to follow:
* Direct editing of templates - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/make-it-easier-to-create-and-edit-templates-without-needing-to-apply-the-templat
* Retroactive updates of templates - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/retroactively-apply-templates-everywhere-it-was-used-after-editing-the-master-te
* Applying a list template via automation - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/new-action-apply-list-folder-space-template

I have struggled with this issue from the very first day of using this. Unless you have a perfect template to begin with - you have to make these changes manually which is beyond time consuming. I hope this is top of their list for updates.

“Applying the template to an existing list, folder, or space” would be very useful! I will really need it!

why cant the sub list inherit the view from the Space? instead we have to go thru the tedious process to manually update each of the view?

Very dissapointed that this still hasn't been added as an option. We're working on a clickup workspace for a client, which leans heavily on them filling out a form in order to set up a new project. We have an automation that triggers a new list to be created, named with information that the client can input in the form. That said, when the new list is created, there's no way to automatically apply the appropriate project template. We've found work-arounds for everything else, but this is very frustrating.

Jo Bowlin I am having a similar issue. I've created a List Template at the space level, and applied it to lists in multiple subfolders. I've made some updates to the template, only to find out you can't push these changes to all instances where the template is used.

Yes, definitely!
Also, I reported a bug and it redirected me here, though I don't think this is the list for it, so I'll put it here anyway and if it goes somewhere else, please direct me there.
There is an issue when I go to update an existing document template. If I previously had the "Share with" option be "Select people", the people are automatically removed, and I have to reselect everyone again. This should by default keep the same people that had access previously.

Looking for the possibility to Create a Folder from a Template once a form fill / task is created.

I was surprised this was not a trigger, this would eliminate multiple steps in our workspace where we have workarounds.

Please add this - Client Dashboards are absolutely impossible without it - given that the only way to display dynamic data automatically is via the task card... Any estimate on when it may be available?
