## Feature request: “Reply to” field in email integration
###
Title:
Email integration extended to include the “Reply to email address” field###
Problem description:
It is currently a challenge in ClickUp to establish a seamless and
free email workflow
that automatically assigns incoming emails to an existing task and bundles the entire communication process there. The main reason for this is the lack of a way to set the specific **Task Mail Address (Task Mail Address) ** directly as a “Reply to” address (
Reply-To”) in automated or initial emails when they are sent to ClickUp from ClickUp or via email filters. As a result, the email traffic cannot be directly assigned to the associated task when you first contact us or an automated response. Users are forced to resort to manual workarounds such as changing the “Reply to” field in a local email client, which undermines the idea of automation and makes the process inefficient. With services such as Gmail, this field is often not accessible in the online client, making automation even more difficult.
###
Desired feature:
We request that a
"Reply-To Email Address” field be implemented within the ClickUp email integration. This field should be configurable to automatically use the task's
task email address** when emails are sent from or to ClickUp.###
Benefits and benefits:
*
Unique task assignment:
Incoming emails that are a response to an email sent by ClickUp would automatically be assigned to the correct task. This eliminates the need for manual assignments and avoids creating redundant tasks.*
Seamless communication process:
The entire email exchange with customers or team members would remain clear and fully documented within the respective ClickUp task.*
Significant time savings:
Manual workarounds and the need to adjust emails in external clients would be eliminated, significantly speeding up the workflow.*
Increasing efficiency with free solutions:
With this feature, much of the email-to-task automation could be implemented free
, as no additional AI features or complicated third-party integrations would be required for basic allocation.*
Improved overview and transparency:
All relevant information and communication about a task would be bundled at a central location, which improves collaboration and traceability.*
Increased usability:
The process would be more intuitive and easy to use as the technology takes over the manual linking of communication.###
Application example:
A customer submits a support request This email is forwarded (e.g. via a filter) to a summary task in ClickUp and recorded there as a comment or task. ClickUp sends an automatic confirmation of receipt to the customer, which contains the email address of the
newly created task
in the “Reply to” field. If the customer now replies to this confirmation, their email ends up directly as a new comment in the associated ClickUp Task
instead of creating a new, separate task.---
Thank you for reviewing this important feature. We're convinced that this extension would make ClickUp even more valuable for many teams.
