Always on top timer
Glenn Marks
When you start a timer on any of the apps (or if you have the Chrome Extension installed), it places a small timer on top of all the other windows/apps. This means if I have to pop away from my desk I can stop the timer no matter the window or app I'm in

Mini timer
Önder Bağcı
There should be mini timer for the desktop app that will have to option to stay on top of all other windows. Like the one Toggl provides. This also needs shortcuts to start/stop; pausing after x min of inactivity, ability to edit the time entered, notification to track the time when not tracking and stopping when the workday is over. And most importantly, we should be able to edit the start time while it's being tracked. This is important when we remember to start the timer say half an hour after we start the task.

I would love for ClickUp to have this feature.
Check out https://getslash.co/ for a great example of this. You have a list of tasks and when you focus on one, it launches a timer bar with the name of the task and the timer. The bar floats on top of any window and can be moved, resized or adjusted for transparency. It even bounces or flashes every couple of minutes so that you remember your current task. The timer can be a countdown based on time estimate of the task or a normal timer counting forward.

I need this too. It's the only reason I'm not moving from Toggl to Clickup native tracker.

I'm with you. Was using MD Projecttimer before which had a small extension which green light on, which floats on top in windows and held the task name in it. You never could forget to start/stop .

This is a great idea! Önder Bağcı prefectly described my request and wish! I was using Toggl before and this is something I'm missing with ClickUp.
The main features:
- Windows app;
- option to stop current task;
- option to start, lets say 10 recent tasks;
- option to add note to task;
- option to edit currently tracing task (start time, mostly).
Good luck!

YES, I need this! not only do i need the timer on top of every Chrome window, but I need it on top of every application, when I'm not looking at the Clickup Desktop I often forget that I even have a timer on

What about a tracking wireless device that mesures automatically when an employee starts and stops a task ?
Claude Barns
I mean, each task might ring a bell when the employee is around to remind him to start and stop.

Just a couple of examples

This feature would be great. The only reason I still use Toggl is because of the mini timer on top of all windows. This prevents me from forgetting about the running timer.

Great ideas Önder Bağcı! We are currently working on V2 of our time tracking feature that will be our base for adding a lot of these features in the near future. 🙂

Ivan Villa: Great! Thanks, I'm happy to hear that.

Ivan Villa: WHen would it be available? This mini timer feature staying on top is really important, and very helpful
Ivan Villa
Shruthi Shivaswamy: Hey Shruthi! We still don't have a date for this yet, but we will post updates here if there starts to be some movement on the feature.

Ivan Villa: I would really really love this feature! Since I am not able to use any of the time tracking integrations, this feature would really help!! Please let us the date if you have one

Ivan Villa: HI, seeing this 1 year later. Is this mini timer thing on top of Windows Apps in the plan meanwhile? Couldn't find it in the roadmap directly.
Taswir
Ivan Villa: Hi Ivan, do you have any plan to implement this feature soon? With the help of a mini timer on top, we can really visualize how much time we are spending on a specific project.
Please make it resizeable so that users can resize it as per their device resolution.
Also shortcut to start/stop/pause, idle notification, auto start with windows, always on top and total workhour history like Toggl would be much helpful.
Also the dark mode option will come in handy! Thank you.
