Allow the Date field browser to quickly choose a year

Selecting a date in the past of the future in another year is cumbersome and takes very long to scroll back to. There needs to be a way to select the year. For example when inserting a birthdate or a due date for long term projects, expiration date etc.

Thank you for your patience! I'm happy to let you that this issue has been fixed and is currently working in ClickUp 2.0, which is only accessible through a private beta invite.
The good news? I just added all of you and your team owners to the beta so you don't have to deal with that bug any longer!

Hey there Yuri! You can use the text box to quickly set any date, including ones in another year. For example: August 20 2021. Let me know if this helps!

Tarun Masani: Hi Jorgen, as mentioned above, the text field is not available in the custom date field. And there are more issues mentioned above related to this. Further more even if there is a text field, the calendar selector is better and assumes that one can scroll through years quickly, so this suggestion is to make that possible and not rely on a text field for that, since some 'items' (not tasks) that are created always have dates in the far future or far past.

Hey there Yuri! Just wanted to let you know that you can type dates directly into the date field box, just like when setting a Due Date or a Start Date.

Another related bug (?) is that if I click the arrows of the month above the date browser until another year, suddenly that year is added to the month shown and it gets a red underlining. It then becomes seemingly editable because when I click on it, it allows the change the year, although it does not actually change or save it. I think this was supposed to be a solution under development which has been forgotten.

I was referreing to the custom field Date. I see that the standard Due date field of tasks has an extra box 'type any date and time' under it. This is not available in the custom Date field. Still though, I think that for the standard Due date as well as the custom Date field, selecting a year on top of the date browser would make it a lot easier. On top of the browser there is a month selector. Just add a year selector above it.
