Currently, ClickUp only allows a task’s time estimate to be spread evenly across its scheduled days. This creates major issues for resource planning and reporting when a task needs to be worked on over several days, but with different amounts of time allocated each day.
For example, if I have a 2.5-day task (like designing a banner) and a 0.5-day task (like designing a logo) that both need to be scheduled on the same Monday, I’m forced to split the banner task into two separate tasks: one for the 0.5 day on Monday, and another for the remaining 2 days. This results in:
  • Artificially inflated task counts (affecting reporting and deliverable tracking)
  • Duplicate-looking tasks in lists and dashboards
  • Confusion for the team and stakeholders about what’s actually being delivered
What’s needed:
  • The ability to schedule a single task across multiple days and specify different hour allocations for each day (e.g., 4 hours on Monday, 8 hours on Tuesday, 4 hours on Wednesday).
  • Accurate workload and capacity planning that reflects real-world scheduling, without needing to create duplicate or split tasks.
  • Improved reporting so that deliverables are counted correctly and lists don’t show unnecessary duplicates.
This feature would make ClickUp much more powerful for resource management, especially for teams with complex or variable schedules.
