Allow Required Notification Settings to be turned off

The Status Changes clog up our 'All' notification feeds - we'd prefer to be able to not be notified when statuses change. Until then, we use the two other options "Assigned to me" and "Mentions". We genuinely don't care about things changing status, as many have automations that create downstream tasks and such.

Originally raised early 2019. Under Review March 2023. Today is 3rd Jan 2024. More than 4.5 years to make a few notifications unmandatory...
Just mindblown, when multiple users have reported this to be a showstopper.

This has to be one of the worst decisions by the designers. I create a task on my personal space that only I have access to. Since those tasks won't show up in "Today" view unless they're assigned to me (how ridiculous), I have an automation that assigns it to me and assigns a due date.
Now the app gives me these irritating Inbox notifications that I then have to go and clear. I don't want to be forced into all this noise.
We're currently looking for another app solution because this.
Please remove all "required" notifications.

Our team constantly talks about the number of unnecessary notifications we receive in Clickup. It gets to the point where team members have hundreds of notifications to go through when we're assigning tasks at the end of each month.
As you can imagine, this is incredibly problematic as it causes IMPORTANT notifications to be missed--responses get delayed and work gets delayed due to this. This seems very counter-intuitive.
We should be able to decide what notifications we actually need to receive in order to optimize our own workflows and make sure we can focus on the tasks we need to instead of spending copious amounts of time sifting through and clearing notifications.

☝️ This! Do want :)

I also want to be able to turn off in-app notifications - for everything.

Make default email notification setting only when tagged

When adding guests to a ClickUp board, they get email notifications for every status update or change to the board as a default, which makes them not want to use ClickUp & feel overwhelmed by it.
It would be great to make the default notification setting for guests as only getting notified when they are @ tagged. It's hard to try and show them how to change this is their notifications setting, especially if they arent tech savvy.

Please let us have 100% control of our notification settings

Hi clickup.
Please let us have 100% control of our notification settings.
One of the things that frustrates me a lot in clickup.. The reason is that I have to spend time on useless notifications.
A lot of the settings in the notification settings say "This setting is required to ensure important activity isn't lost."
I am glad that you look out for us and care for us.
But could you instead just make a warning and ask me if I am sure that I want to turn off this notification? Instead of forcing me to waste time on notifications that are not of any value to me.
Example.
In our company we have a rule - that comments are only relevant to you if you are tagged... But I am not able to turn off notifications for "New comments"
So now I have to either 'Stop watching a task' (I do not want to do that) or receive a notification every time my teammates discuss this task (I do not want that either).
I just want to keep watching this task and only get a notification when my teammates tag me in a comment.
--
The same goes for 'Status changes'
I want to keep watching the task - but I do not want to get notification every time one of my teammates changes the status of a task that is not assigned to me.
We have 1000s of tasks and I get notifications about so many things that before I am done clearing my notifications my head is spinning and then there is less capacity to actually do the work that needs to be done.
I hope you will let it be up to us what notifications we want to receive.
Thank you very much

Hey, there! We're looking into this as part of our upcoming roadmap planing and I've gone ahead and merged your request into a similar request so it gets more visibility.
Thank you!
